Yolanda was born in New Jersey to an Italian father and a Nicaraguan mother. At a very young age, Yolanda and her sisters were very passionate artists, creating paintings and drawings, writing stories and making short films. Starting out doing home movies, she quickly realized her love of being in front of the camera. Her love of travel coupled with her drive to succeed brought her to Los Angeles. Eager to launch her career, she quickly enrolled in an acting class.
Immediately, she started working as a model, and booked the first casting she went on, becoming the face of Merle Norman Cosmetics. Since being in LA, Yolanda has been featured in a special issue of Maxim, listing her among the top Latina celebrities. She has graced several magazine covers, including Elite Traveller and Open Your Eyes and has done print jobs for many clients such as Target, Walmart, Pioneer, Nokia, Yamaha, etc. She starred in commercials for TJ Maxx, Verizon, Ford, Sunkist, Toyota, etc.
Shortly after her modeling career started to take off, she caught the attention of producer Christopher Saint, who cast her as a lead in his film Death Tunnel. Things moved quickly after that; she appeared on CBS’ “Dr. Vegas” and starred in Aundre Johnson’s “4 1/4” which was accepted into the well-respected Palm Springs Film Festival.
Yolanda’s first major starring role was as the lead in the upcoming independent film Death Calls. This movie was quite a learning experience and allowed Yolanda to experience carrying a film for the first time.
More recently, Yolanda booked a part in “The Ugly Truth” starring Katherine Heigl and Gerard Butler. She then landed a role in “Once Fallen” starring Ed Harris and made an appearance on the ABC Family show "Greek".
She currently resides in Silverlake, Los Angeles, and enjoys the beach, hiking and travel. Yolanda keeps very busy working in print, commercials and film. Her passion for acting and the challenge and adventure of this business have kept her working hard and preparing for what’s ahead. She is excited for a future she knows will be promising.
